Droid Insurance Replacement and Apps?

tah

Lurker
Well I broke the screen on my Droid and Asurion (Verizon) is sending me a new (refurbished?) Droid 1st Generartion.

Here's the question. Will Google recognize my new phone and allow me to download all the apps I've paid for?

Or...........is this going to be a huge PITA?

Sorry if this has been covered, I "poked" around a bit and couldn't find the answer I was looking for.

Thanks in advance.............

Once you sign in with your gmail account your phone should start to sync your contacts, and apps. It might take a while but it will sync.

I trashed my Droid around the first of December and they replaced it without question at the Verizon store. I got a refurb and it runs as well, if not better, than my original. The tech at the store did all the database stuff to transfer the phone ID numbers and had me log in to my Google account. I walked out of the store, drove to my office, sat down at my desk, took out my Droid and in the short 20 minutes from sign in to back at my desk, all of my stuff was re-installed. I had to set the phone back up (of course) and restore the data to my apps, but it did it all itself. The only PITA that I had to deal with was the two apps that I have purchased directly from the vendor (they don't use the Market Purchase Verification.) I had to enter authentication codes from them and one of them is tied to the phone's MEID, which meant I had to contact the vendor for a new code. He had the new code to me the next day and all was well again.
