Droid is a mess

yeah i try to tell that to people all the time, like when you order a refurb ipod off apple and its like way cheaper than the new one, all the new one is, is like you said someone who bought it didnt like it and returned it, i prefer refurb any day over new just cause the price diff, and savings

So last week I took my droid in due to a ton of issues (reboots, data not working, email a mess, gtalk cannot get a connection). The manager offered to replace it with a new droid but she did not have any in stock. We agreed that she could ship me one to an out of town location since I was traveling. Low and behold my phone shows up and it is a certified "like new" droid. The droid has a 1 year man warranty, and to me this is unacceptable. Has anyone else had to return there phone and what did they get when this happened. I was under the impression it would be a brand new phone...after all it is only 4 months old and with a 1 year and $300.00 price tag this seems really crappy.

toughts??

I took my Droid back last week due to constant static and popping noises while on calls and I was over the 30 day window by a couple days. I was told by the VZW rep that there were no new Droids in stock, however he offered me a certified "like new" Droid. I told him I didn't want it if it looked used. It looked brand new with all the plastic intact and no blemishes so I agreed to swap it. Even though I traded for a certified "like new" phone I feel it's a little more stable and more responsive than the original "new" Droid I had. Weird huh?

Would you rather them send it in for repairs and leave you with nothing? It's 4 months old. What makes you think you deserve a brand new one over refurbished like everyone else gets in other electronics?

BTW, your subject title is really crappy too. Doesn't reflect at all what the body of your message is saying.
