Droid practically useless with Pioneer AVIC D3

I sold my car a couple months ago and left the D3 in it. Probably could have made some money selling it seperately, but I don't miss that thing at all. Worked great with my BB Curve but it was a PITA getting it to work with my Droid. Going to wait until after summer and see what my options for something similar are, but may just stick with the Droid as my in-car NAV/Music setup.

i know this is an old subject, however,I just installed the avic f90bt in my truck and have a similar problem. I've tried to sync this w/ my droid A855. The phone book transfers fine the touch screen works for dialing the contacts and VR works when I speak #'s but will not work when I speak the name of the contacts. the unit come on and says"sorry I did not understand, please speak the name or #" as a separate note, the Ipod VR works fine when requesting an album or artist. I paired my wifes blackberry and it works fine. I have installed both the nav unit 2.008 and BT 330 updates. This did not change the function whatsoever. Does anyone have suggestions about how to fix the AVIC VR function w/ the droid.
