Root Droid razr m wont turn on

winner225

Lurker
I recently flashed cyanogenmod on my razr m and wifi wasnt working. I did some research and found that i had to flash a new modem file and then reflash cyanogenmod. I did that and now i have a black screen and no notification light. I can tell that the device is on because when i plug it into my computer the computer makes the connected device sound. Any idea how i can fix this? and yes...flashing and formatting are options as i have backed up my device.

Welcome to Android Forums.

I moved this thread to the sub-forum where root-related questions on the Droid Razr M are discussed.

winner225, I will second the welcome to the site :hello:

Could you please tell us exactly which version of Cyanogenmod you flashed and the same for the modem files? Maybe a link?

In my experience, WiFi will stop working if you flash a kernel that is not compatible with either your device or its Android version. Flashing a ROM almost always includes a flash of your kernel.

Then to further your angst, if you flash a radio (or modem) file not compatible with your device more problems will arise as you have found. I haven't used my XT907 enough to remember about the various radio files out there, but I'm not sure if there were any.

Finally, I think if you hold down the power button and the volume up and down buttons, your phone will power off. Then power it back up into recovery (I _think_ it is power and volume down) and see if you can restore your backup. The only problem with this is I know that a nandroid backup/restore doesn't touch the radio files.

good luck
