droid to ps3

The only internet connection I have is my phone. I was wondering if I could use my phone and connect it to my ps3 so I can use the internet on my tv. Is this possible how do I do it and is it free?

Well for this to work effectivly you are going to need a PC I believe. What I have done in the past for the sole purpose of updating my XBOX was with a laptop I enabled the connection sharing function in vista. I then connected my droid via wireless tether for root users then bridged my wireless connection to my LAN connection and then I was able to connect to the xbox live servers. This does not cost any extra money for me.

Thanks. At least I know its possible now I gotta find out how to do it without a pc. I'm not rooted either. Because I don't have a pc. Do they have a one click for the new update yet.

You might wanna do some more searching then from what I remember neither the xbox nor ps3 had the capability without the connection being shared from a computer. At the time I did not have a laptop and searched pretty endlessly. Good luck with your findings. Also as far as 1 click root I think you can find Z4root apk lying around somewhere that will root the droid it is no longer in market but should be an apk some where if ya search for it.

yeah you will have to share it from the pc, there was a video up in another thread about ps3 i saw (search will probably bring it up) which showed it working. USB tether from the phone to pc then run the ethernet from your pc to the ps3. The ps3 wont see it straight through wireless tether

Well I thought if let you guys know that I'm able to connect my ps3 directly to my droid x through the wifi tether. I'm rooted and was able to play modern warfare 2 online last night with no glitching.

That's because the wireless tether app for root now supports infrastructure mode on the Droid X.

This. But infrastructure mode will never be possible on the original Droid. As far as I know, the Droid simply does not have the right hardware for this.
