Help Droid Turbo Proximity Sensor Not Working

Hi guys,
For those of you that have the Droid Turbo like I do you would be familiar with the feature that lets you wave your hand over it to view the time and see your notifications. However, mine has stopped doing that all of a sudden and new notifications no longer light up my screen and proximity turn on no longer works.

I have tried restarting the phone and checking the settings to make sure it is enabled, which it was. I also had a phone overheat around the time this problem started and I am a tad suspect they are related. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated as this feature has became an integral part of my Android experience.

I had this exact same problem on my droid turbo. The phone overheated a few days ago (giving a overheating warning) and I think around that time the sensors stopped working. If anyone finds a solution please post it on the forums.
