Droid vs. Droid X

Unfortunately, that's they way it is with technology. The Droid X will be "Top of the Line" for 6-8 months, then be ousted by the next "Top of the Line" phone. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it takes even less time. The Droid 2 is coming soon and I'm sure that will beat the Droid X senseless.

That's what I'm thinking, the droid x isn't even going to be top dog in 3 or 4 months.

And if I'm the primary line on the 2 line account don't I w to upgrade every year?

If you have a two year contract, then you can upgrade every two years at a discount. And actually it's more like every year and nine or ten months. The primary line, however, gets an extra discount if you wait an extra month or two (total of about one year and 11 months). Also, once you get your service, go to Cell Phones, Cell Phone Plans, 3G Smartphones, the Best Cell Phone Service - Verizon Wireless and sign up for an online account. It will tell you right there the date that you are eligible for upgrades.

I have the primary phone on my family plan and I waited the entire two years to upgrade to my MotoDroid and received an extra $100 off. I ended up only having to pay $99 for my phone through Verizon.

I suggest going with two MotoDroids through Amazon (or similar site) because you can get them for only about $25 each or less with a new two year contract.
