Droid with Microphone headset

When listening to mp3s on my Hero, incoming calls are placed directly into voice mail. Is there a setting I can fix this with?

Will the phone alert me to an incoming call so that I can answer it? I did not even see a missed call when I tested it. Just went straight to voicemail.

I use a pair of 3 Gen Apple iTouch/Phone headphones, and the Droid DOES alert me when:

- phone call comes in. It rings... AND I can pick up the call by clicking the switch on the headphones.

- a text or email comes in. The Droid interrupts the music and sends the tone to the headset. Works great. Having chose different alert tones for the various email addresses I have, I even know which account got the email..

The music resumes automatically after the call, or email/text alert..

Now, I just need a BLACK set of headphones that do the same thing... I would like my headphones to match the DROID. :)

So my HTC and apple headphones WERE working for the first few days I had the droid. Now, no one can hear me thru the headset mic? It works for music playback?

So are you guys saying that the most recent (3gs with the +/-) apple buds do not work at all or simply that the volume +/- does not work? Just curious. I tried my friend's older iPhone buds and the click seemed to work fine to answer calls, play/pause music. I was disappointed that the the button muted a call instead of ending it. I'd prefer to be able to end a call with the button. Though I'm guessing that is a software thing on the Droid?

Are there non - apple headphones that have inline controls that work with a mic, answer calls, control volume, skip tracks, etc? Is there a BT solution that would provide all of this?

What I'd like is a good headset (wired or BT) that I can use to listen to podcasts when I walk the dag and be able to pause playback, answer calls and adjust volume. Skipping tracks is less necessary actually.

Thanks,
John

here you go dude. and there only 20 bucks :)

Motorola Droid Wired Headsets

Thanks for the link. Are there any wired phones compatible with the droid that include volume control? The one linked here don't look to include that feature. To be honest I don't really go for such long walks that I expect to get a call while listening to a podcast or music. It's a nice option to have, but for now I'm just using old ipod phones. I do think that being able to answer the phone while out would be convenient without needing to fish out the phone and take off my gloves etc. I'm also concerned that the dog will yank the leash while I fumble with the phone and watch it go crashing to the sidewalk...

I have the Bose headset & they work well with my Treo, but with 2 different Droids they didn't. The headphones worked, but the mic on the phone stayed active instead of the headset. To make things more curious, if I use voice recorder, the headset mic works properly each time so I know it's plugged all the way in & working properly. If I then kill the recorder & try the phone, once again it's the phone mic active, so I can't replace it in my pocket or case. I thought the first Droid was defective & exchanged it, but still doesn't work. My wife has the same headset & both work in her Droid.

If I can't fix this, it's a deal killer & will return the phone. Any suggestions?

Wow didn't know u guys were so sensitive, I had given up on the thread but just fyi I ended up buying the v-moda Faze. They work great but don't have a volume control ....

There are many cultures represented on these forums, some more 'sensitive' than others. Good manners however are appreciated universally. :)

My BB headphones work. They're the ones with the mic and one single click button. The click button has worked for pausing/playing in music and listen. The microphone works too. The click button also answers and hangs up calls.

anyone know if the Droid will support an external microphone during video recording?

There are some plug in external mics for iphone, will they work with video?
There are some very good usb mics, it would be great if Video recording app would allow one of these.
