droid wont boot past motorola logo

i was attempting to get get 2.2 working on my phone and when i rebooted its now stuck on the motorola logo, any help would be appreciated, i need my phone functional for work in the am :mad:
 
That's really not enough information, but before you worry, it's not bricked :p

Try formatting boot/system/data/cache again and restoring the nandroid again.

EDIT: Also this should probably be moved to the root forum.
 
i was just following the instructions i found installed an sbf with rsd lite and then got stuck on the screen, is there a way to do a reset or something of the like
 
i took the batttery out and put it back in, held down the x key and now i got the droid icon with the sprecovery menu just dont know where to go from here now

It sounds like you got the ESE81 w/ SP Recovery .sbf file. It should just boot into stock Android 2.1.

If you want to install 2.2 you should really know more about rooting your phone. It's not in any way an official or supported release.

If you don't know what you are doing it's unlikely you'll actually break your phone, but you might encounter a lot of problems and not know why or how to fix them.
 
yeah thats what im experiencing now do you know what to do once i got to the sbrecovery screen with the android logo?
 
I had this problem back when 2.1 came out, and I actualy upgraded mine legit.

If i remember right theres a format option you can choose at the recovery screen? Just use that, it will format your phone and you will lose all the apps you downloaded.. You should be able to resync your phone to facebook/gmail and get your contacts back however. At least thats what i did.

I think what happens is during the upgrade some files get corrupted. but what do i know ;p
