Help Droid X backlight problem?

i rooted my phone the other day and since then when my screen goes off and i hit the lock/unlock button the backlight will turn on then off. The screen is on and if i hold it under a light you can barely see it and i have to keep hitting the lock button to try and get the backlight back on
