Root Droid X Bootstrapper not working

OK guys, I'm really new to this ROM thing, but I thought that bootstrapper being a two button program wouldn't be that hard for me. Clearly, I was wrong. I have Koush's bootstrap recovery program and I'm trying to use it to install this Liberty ROM that all the young people are talking about nowadays. Anyways, I click the Bootstrap Recovery button and get the "Success!" message. I then click "Reboot Recovery" and get...nothing.

What am I doing wrong? Is something else possibly interfering with it? I know that I am rooted as I have the superuser permission icon in the app drawer and I can see that the bootstrap program is in there as having superuser permissions. Please help.

Try installing and re installing. What is it doing when you hit reboot recovery? Absolutely nothing and you can continue playing with your phone like normal?

You have to have Clockwork Mod Recovery installed as well. Easiest way to get it is to download the Rom Manager app from the Market. Install it and the application will download and flash Clockworkmod Recovery on your device.

Uninstalled it and reinstalled and tried it again, got the same result. When I hit reboot recovery, I'm getting absolutely nothing like you said, I can keep playing with the phone as normal. I'm really perplexed here, I thought that this was going to be a rather easy process.

Yeah, I've had that Rom Manager app on before I downloaded the bootstrapper.

Do you have these files? /system/bin/hijack, /system/bin/logwrapper, and /system/bin/logwrapper.bin use a file explorer that can have superuser access (like root explorer)

Thanks to everyone for the help. It didn't really make any sense to me, but I followed the advise of Aggie and checked for those files. After not seeing any of them, I decided to unroot, then re-root (I don't know if those are the proper terms). After doing that, I had no problems getting everything done. Big thanks to everyone for their help.

I seem to be experiencing this same problem with Droid X Bootstrapper. I lost my root on the .621 OTA and went the Milestone X route to get my droid x rooted. I have ClockworkMod installed successfully as well as Droid X Bootstrapper, on the surface everything seems to be functioning successfully. I have all files suggested by Aggie present and accounted for. Could it be a problem with the Milestone X version?
