Accessories Droid X EZE Stand Desktop Dock

Just got my ezestand today and I'm happy with it. It may not be the most stylish dock ever, but it's ultraportable and works with cases. It's also a generic enough design that I could use it with future devices.

Awesome! Id much rather pay $13 for a stand that pretty much does the same as one that costs$40. And like you said,it could be used for future devices again unlike the$ 40 one. :)

Exactly. Plus I'm thinking I may try to rig something up to hold the right angle micro usb cord so that I can just drop the phone in without plugging the cord in first. Not a huge deal but a little thing to make life easier.

Seriously, for $16.00, considering the right angle usb and shipping is included, I think it's an amazing deal.

It does in-fact work with multiple phones, and works with any case. So until some engineer is smart enough to think ahead, knowing that consumers WILL put a case on their phones, and that docks MUST be able to work with a cases (like the moto car dock), then the ezeStand is perfect.

I only use it as a bedside stand for my alarm clock. And it is very portable, considering the usb is a 6 foot cable, I cable plug it in at any nightstand, at any hotel, and I don't have to worry if the Motorola issued 1 foot cable is going or reach or not.

Can anyone tell me why they really "need" to dock their phones to plug the hdmi into the tv. Your not going to watch it simultaneously on the dock and the tv. And unless your tv is within arms reach, you have to get up off the couch to manipulate the touch screen on the phone anyways.

So get the ezestand for now, and buy the hdmi cable separate, and you'll be good to go.

What EzeStand/Todd should do, is offer the the ezeStand/6" USB/HDMI cable bundle for $20.00 shipped.

I'm pretty sure everyone would pick this "multimedia bundle" up. I would.

I agree. I think what engineers need to do is make a dock with either a removable insert a la the moto car dock, or better yet, have an adjustable sliding back plate so it could even be used with something like the otterbox defender series. At his moment in time I really don't see the hdmi out being a killer feature. If I'm at home, presumably where I keep my hdmi cable, I'm gonna use my PS3/XBox/DVR for whatever I'm going to watch. If I wanted to use my phone to show stuff to someone, it would be over at their place and they would have to happen to have a micro-hdmi cable or I would need to carry one with me. Not very convenient IMO. So, I really have no need for hdmi to be incorporated into my dock. I'm stoked about the ezestand. The only thing it's missing for me is the ability to use it in portrait mode. Not a big deal but would be nice.

I took my extra ezeStand and modified it for my wife's Droid Incredible.

Pretty frustrated with the lack of accessory support for the Dinc.

It actually works pretty well. has tracking so it doesn't slide on the night stand. It works with a case. It has the perfect 10-15 degree tilt, and the charger keeps it from falling forward. Here are some pics...

Just shaved off the left side with my dremmel, so the charger cable clears.

So my wife's pretty happy.

Maybe, EZESTAND can start producing these for the Droid Incredible market.

I'm going to perform the same surgery on my stand's right side so the X will sit centered. This might also work for the HDMI cord as well.

Hey everyone,

ezeStand is happy to announce the ezeStand XL. This is a second version of the ezeStand which is designed specifically for wider phones such as the Droid X and HTC EVO.

Some new key features include:
Cable clamp feature to hold the USB cable onto the ezeStand
Wider design to accommodate phones up to 2.85" wide
Lower side arm design to accommodate phones with lower side connectors

We are stocked up and ready to ship. Most orders received before noon PST will ship the same day and will arrive within 2-5 days through USPS.

We still have our ezeStand Super Bundle available for $19.99 which includes the ezeStand of your choice (Classic or XL), AC USB Wall Charger, USB Car Charger, and 2 Six Foot Right Angle Micro USB cables.

Ordered one on the 4th. Hopefully it will arrive in the next day or two. Was sent a tracking number but it still shows that it has not been shipped.

Hi Caveman419,
Unfortunately, the USPS tracking information isn't very informative on the whereabouts of shipments until the package is either out for delivery on the day of delivery or it has been delivered. If the tracking reports "Electronic Shipping Info Received", it means that we have paid and printed the shipping label and dropped off the package at the post office that same day. USPS is usually pretty good at honoring the 2-5 day shipping, so I would expect you to receive you package very soon. Please post back and let us know what you think of the ezeStand XL.

Thank you for your response. I just thought the tracking thing was a little odd since I just tracked two other packages through the USPS from their origins through the different stops along the way to the out for delivery status. I have no doubt that I will receive the package, I just want to make sure that I am home to intercept it before the wife gets home and have to explain why I need another accessory for my Droid.:D I have been following the product for quite a while and am very excited to give the new model a try.

I received my Ezestand XL last night and brought it to work this morning to try out. So far it is a really nice sturdy design. It is has a compact design and is not bulky. The non slip pads on the bottom make sure that it does not slide anywhere and the same pads keep the phone in place. I have an Otterbox commuter series case on my phone and it fits perfectly in the stand in both landscape and portrait modes. The case also does not interfere with the multimedia docking mode. This is a really nice product that has a well thought out design. I would reccomend it to any Droid X user. And for the price there is not a better deal anywhere!!

I have showed it to a couple of coworkers in my office who have original Droids and they are going to order the original Ezestand.

I kinda like this stand better...
Introducing the Chinjuu DROID Stand, Where Art and Metal Meet Technology - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog

Found it on Droid-Life a while ago. I think the Ezestand could use a lot of work aesthetically. Its all function, no style!

It is nice looking, but all of the functionality is not there. And I believe function over fashion. Give my something that works instead of some shiny dust collector. This is also made for the Droid 1 & 2, not the X. The charging port is in a spot that would make the DX sit off center and therefor make the style look bad. Also no portrait stand.

Sorry, I will keep my ezestand.

Oh boy...my tracking info says my EZESTAND XL is out for delivery today, so another new DX gadget will be waiting for me when I get home tonight. I believe in going the function over fashion route as well. I ordered the Holiday Bundle...great deal! I've been using the OEM media dock which works great...except that you have to take your case off every time you use it. The EZESTAND will eliminate that issue.

Very pleased with the EZESTAND XL...exactly what I was looking for. A solid, functional dock that I can use on my nightstand without having to remove my case (Incipio Silicrylic which is a great case!) every night.
