Help Droid X + Google Latitude Question

When I had Google Latitude on my Crackberry it updated my location on a timed interval in the background, on the Droid X it only updates when I open the Google Map app, is there anyway to have it update in the background?

P.S. I have "Detect your location" enabled.

There's an app called cellflare in the marketplace (free) that does it. BUT be warned it sucks a LOT of battery juice. It ate 22% of mine the last cycle, because I forgot to turn it off.

You can try out Backitude. It gives you those kind of options and integrates with Google Latitude to update your position. I tried to keep battery efficiency in mind when designing.
