Root Droid X guy trying to help INC. guy root and ROM

Hey guys. I'm working on my friends Incredible. I noticed that he is on 2.3.4 Gingerbread. And it appears that there is nothing we can do ? We can't just flash back to a previous software that is rootable and install a ROM on top of that ? What are the steps i need to take? Is there anything I can do ? Or is this a waiting game for gingerbread to be rooted?

Unless your friend was previously rooted, there's nothing you can do right now. 2.3.4 is not rootable and you're right that you cant revert to a previous OS. If we're lucky, somebody will find a new exploit in the future.
