Help Droid X keyboard issue after update

I am SURE there is a post on this already, but I don't have time to search. Ever since latest system update, the keyboard doesnt work on my droid x. I have to use swype, and I hate it. Is this a common problem, and is there a patch coming? Thanks

Try clearing the app data/cache for the keyboard app, it should take care of the problem.

Press the menu button >settings >applications >manage applications >press the "all" tab on the top >scroll down to "mulit-touch keyboard" , press on it and press "clear data" and "clear cache" (if you can).

Ok, so my first text worked. Let me keep my fingers crossed. FYI..did not appear that there was really much data at all in there..like 472 kb in the keyboard, then the cache was already at 0. So is this something that will keep happening?

It should not keep happening and probably won't happen again.

Try a different keyboard like swype or better keyboard 8(7) from the market
