Droid X keyboard on Eris

Do you find that Haptic feedback causes any increased lag? I'm loving the improved responsiveness of this Droid X keyboard over the stock keyboard and I'm wondering if I should just stick with it with no haptic feedback because no lag is the most important part for me.

Yeah, I had lag using haptic feedback.

what happen to the link for flashable zip because both non-root, non heptic and heptic apk are not working for my rooted 2.1, it doesn't show up.

How are you installing it?

You must first go to:
Menu > Settings > Applications > check "Unknown sources"

Then after installing using a file explorer like Astro, navigate to:
Menu > Settings > Language & keyboard > check "Multi-touch keyboard"

Then open a text message for example and long-press where you compose texts and select
Input Method > Multi-touch keyboard

These steps along with the keyboard won't work with ZenExp-Rev7...there is no "Multi-touch Keyboard" to check. When I long press in a typing field, nothing happens. Could just be the Rom I'm running, no big deal.

great keyboard smooth n responsive, nice!!! one of my favorite keyboards i downloaded n i.downloaded allot :-)

Sent from my Eris using Tapatalk

i was a devoted "Swyper" but i went back to stock and i think i found its a bit faster for me...

i downloaded the black themed version and i really like the responsiveness and it looks way better than stock..... but....

i'm not getting the multi-touch feature....

How do I install this keyboard option - I just updated my phone to 2.1 and its not rooted. Can I still install this and where are the steps if I can.. thanks Nester...

Cynthia

You don't need root.

I would download Astro file manager from the Market. Download the APK to your PC, mount the card and copy the APK file to the root folder of the card. Using Astro, navigate to the APK file and select to install.

You must have Menu > Settings > Applications > Unknown sources (checked) first.

Then open a text box where you normally compose text/email and Long-press > Input method > Multi touch keyboard (select).

i must be missing something - I'm selecting the "droidXIME-nonroot.apx, but I am not finding an "install" option - I only see extract. I have selected "unknown sources".. what am I doing incorrectly?

I got it!!!! great - thanks soooo much... Bishop... this forum is making me dangerous!!! :D let me look for more items...

Certainly. That's how it's rumored that MrDangerous got his name.....proceed with caution, or you'll surely become "MrDangerous 2", or "MrDangerous Too" even. ;)

Sorry about that :o....and we should probably be concerned if there is already a "MsDangerous"....may have just done him in.

I agree, it's not doing multi touch on any phone right now, and it's annoying to switch to ?123 just to get an apostrophe. Fun to play with though.

no need to switch to ?123... simply hit the "." twice, and you get an "," much simpler:D BTW thanks for the .zip worked great! i love this keyboard!

In case anyone hasn't figured this one out already, you can get to various punctuations by simply long pressing the "period + comma" key next to the space bar.

Saves a little bit of time.

Could someone re-upload the flashable one? The apk won't install. No matter how hard I try, I don't have the correct permissions. On WW 4.4.

Edit: to clarify, I've been trying to push the file and I screwed something up somehow.
I think.
