Droid X owners?

Have any of you came from the DX? Im trying to decide. If you don't mind, please take a few min and list some pros and cons of owning both???
Thanks

I was very happy with my DroidX. It ran flawlessly. When the update to GB 2.3.3 came through it really seemed to mess up my phone. I just couldnt tweak it to get it to run the way I wanted. Decided it was time to move on. Decided to move in the direction of 4G since I live in a covered area so I got the Droid Charge. That phone just didnt seem as well put together as the motorola. 4G didnt impress me enough to get me to stick with the Charge so soon thereafter I went with the Droid 3. Best decision I could've made. Boy oh boy how I missed the querty keypad (especially with the dedicated numbers row on top!) GB 2.3.4 seems to run quite well. The screen size seems like the perfect compromise between too big and too small.

Only Cons of droidX for me was GB 2.3.3 and no querty keypad...I was genuinely very happy with everything else.

I have been very happy with the droid 3 thus far and have no cons that bother me enough to even report. Pros-dual core seems awesome, front facing camera, GB 2.3.4 awesome compared to 2.3.3, querty keypad with the new 5th (numbers) row and on and on for me. The Droid 3 is a phone i will be sticking with for a while now.

Thanks for your advise.
Thats my biggest thing, my next phone has to be frok vzw and has to be Motorola. I personally love their build quality.
Is there plans to root the d3/do you think developers are gonna jump on it. I don't want it to be like the DX2 where no developers wanna touch it.....

Had the X and "upgraded" to the Thunderbolt. That lasted 3 weeks before i switched to the Droid 3. I gave my X to my fiancee and we're both happy. I loved the X, but the Droid 3 is working very well for me.

I have a Droid X as my main phone and have been using the D3 I won in the Twitter/Moto contest for the past day or so. I figured I'd see which I liked more and sell whichever one I didn't pick. I can say that right off the bat I don't like the pentile display. I would choose the X's screen technology over the pentile. I also like the bigger screen real estate on the X. The reason is because I still use swype. The qwerty keyboard is amazing BUT it's ruined by the difficulty in sliding the phone. That was the first thing I immediately hated about the D3. There's no springs or anything to help you open it. It's a bear to open with just your thumb, and 99% of the time I just use the on-screen keyboard because it's too much effort to slide the darn thing open with both hands to reply to a text message. I suppose maybe if you keep using it it'll loosen up, but who knows. It's really a shame because one open, the keyboard is great. Otherwise... let's see... I like the physical buttons on the X vs. the touch ones along the bottom with the D3. The front camera is cool but I personally think that FFCs are a gimmick right now. I tried it out with my friend and while it worked pretty well, it was odd. I think it's something I'd hardly use. Also, and I'm not sure if this had to do with my friend's phone or what, but yeah you have the front camera and speakerphone on and holding it away so they can see your entire face.... but then you can barely hear the other person! He kept seeing the side of my face as I brought it in closer to hear and I kept seeing his ear... useless lol. My initial reaction was that the naked D3 also seemed to weight about 3x heavier than my X with it's TPU case on. Since carrying it around it's not so noticeable now, but initially it was a brick! I'm excited to go back to my X and have it feel like a feather for a bit. Otherwise, the Android 2.3.4 is cool. I REALLY like the HDMI mirroring. Plugged it in and it worked great. Was watching Youtube and Netflix on my TV in no time. The dual core is nice too but I don't play many games on my phones. I didn't really notice any speed increases that may have been caused by it. Or maybe I'm just unobservant. I'm currently fed up with my X that's running the rooted 2.3.3 4.5.596 Gingerbread as I lose data and phone service constantly and have to reboot to regain it. I was really hoping that the D3 would become my new phone, but alas, I'm going back to my X and will load a ROM on it until Verizon/Moto get their act together. Overall, the D3 is nice, love the keyboard... once you force it out, love the HDMI mirroring, and the FFC is neat but kind of a gimmick I think. Just my $0.02 based on what I've held in my hand and played with.

tl;dr

D3 Pros over X in my opinion
- Nice keyboard
- HDMI mirror
- Android 2.3.4
- Dual core
- FFC maybe?

D3 Cons over X in my opinion
- Pentile display
- stupid hard to slide keyboard
- smaller screen
- touch buttons
- "white" button lights are more yellow

I just posted this in the Droid X forum but thought it might be useful here as well:

The D3 appeals to me too, although I was concerned about the quality of the pentile screen (I love the clarity, brightness and color of my DX). Last week I stopped by my local Verizon store and played with their display D3 for a bit - all my concerns disappeared after seeing the Droid 3 in real life. The screen is beautiful and the higher resolution is very cool. Yes, it is a bit smaller than the DX but not that much so. I did a side-by-side comparison of the D3 to my DX using Google Maps and the higher res was very pleasing to my eyes. I also have to say I didn't notice any pixelization (sp?) as some have reported that the pentile screens of the DX2 and Atrix have had, the D3's screen looked every bit as nice as my current phone.

The keyboard felt great as well. I came from Palm smartphones with the tiny keyboard on the front - the one on the D3 is huge by comparison and very easy to use, tactile feedback was solid and my huge hands didn't have problems with "fat-fingering" while typing.

Overall I was very impressed and will definitely consider this as an eventual replacement for my DX. I'm not jumping on it right away because my final upgrade discount is still 6 months away and I'm currently running a rooted OC/UV modded Froyo OS on my DX that allows for tethering when I need it on occasion (very handy) and as I understand it Gingerbread hasn't been rooted for the Droid 3 as of yet.

Just my $.02:D

Not to denigrate what Mike said above, but I didn't notice any pixelization issues with the in-store unit I looked at, and the slide-out mechanism for the keyboard seemed fine to me as well. Maybe this is due to variability in build and/or personal preference.

I have read a lot of posts from people very unhappy with what the GB update has done to their DX's, and I'm holding off from flashing the rooted update for the time being. Apart from occasional lag, Froyo is working great on my X and I don't want to ruin a good thing. But I should say that I didn't see any lag in the D3 running GB that I saw in the store - home screen transitions were smooth as an iphone, and the background water-ripple effect was pretty neat too. I think once the D3 is rooted it will have an even larger following, and I may be inspired enough to take the financial leap and get one...
