Droid X pre-order from Best Buy

Ok, so I preordered my Droid X Saturday at Best Buy. I got my preorder info sheet, but was not given an "appointment" to come pick up my phone. Should I have been given one or would this mean that my store just won't be that busy? I could always call and possibly request one. They told me that they would be calling me to let me know when it's available to pick up. Thanks for the help!

they told me that they will call if the list gets bigger just to get the people on top first, but then I told them I worked that day.
the rep said, oh that's fine. Ur on the list u can just come by anytime of the day.
I think they'll prioritize the people on top of the list first
 
I'm still trying to figure our which phone to get, the EVO or the Droid X. Frankly, if I get the Droid X I'll probably wait until the 15th and order it from Verizon's website. Last time I was on Verizon, I had hard time getting Best Buy to incorporate my corporate discount. I'm just ready to be done with my iPhone 3G and move to something more liberating. From what I have heard, Sprint is filling past EVO orders as well as defective exchanges as fast as they can and will do so until it's under control. In all likelihood, I probably have a better chance of getting the Droid X first.

they will call you when they come in.
 
Went to my local best buy today and asked how many pre orders they had for the X and the girl said 16. I told her Ill take my chances and get to a Verizon corporate store early in the morning the 15th. Haha
 
Glad I hurried over their from my Verizon corporate store when pre-orders were announced. I was waiting to ask about Droid X and started browsing on the Droid Incredible when I found out at 11:40ish. 1st in line to get one, 1 year contract and 30 day return- no restock fee if I don't like it. It will just top it all off if they sell them early on the 11th.

Most resellers have that in their contracts.

No, if you cancel before the 30 days, you only pay to the carrier for the service you used (except for sprint, who doesn't charge you at all). After the 30 days, it goes to the ETF.

you can get a refund for the gift card. We did that a few times with Evo preorders, because people got one from the Sprint store instead.

Best Buy did this for the Iphone early upgrades (I'm assuiming you are referring to the bumped up upgrade dates if you have one later this year), so I see no reason why it wouldn't :)

Odd that my Best Buy said "absolutely not, i'm sure". What's up with that? Do I have to ask for a manager?
 
Since my request for info, from the in store manager, on getting a refund was taken as a I want to cancel my Dinc order went through, on my Dinc delivery date, I am going to look hard at the X

does anyone know when they are going to be on display. Are are yall just pre ordering based off internet info. Thanks
 
My wife decided she probably wants an X as well, so I called a few stores hoping they could tell me how many preorders they already had and the one with the least would be the one I'd preorder hers from.

Well, all three stores said they are no longer taking preorders. They stopped yesterday as they've been bombarded. Not sure if this is a store by store thing, a district thing, or national thing, but that kinda sucks. Glad I ordered mine a couple days ago though:D

I just hope that actually have enough to satisfy the pre-orders they already have. I guess if I don't hear from them by the 14th, I'll call and see if I have one (I better!). If not I'll try to order both of them via verizon.com on the 15th.
 
I was at a best buy this morning and asked and the girl said her manager told her to stop taking pre orders.

This happened with the iPhone launch, too many people and we wanted to make sure all of our preorders got fufilled.

I haven't been into work yet today, but usually it's a store by store basis until we hear otherwise. For all I know there could be a bulletin on employee news right now that says to stop them =P
 
When I preordered Sunday I was told I was the first (this is in Boston).

The manager at the store I went to said absolutely YES. If i cancel preodrer they would let me cash in (i.e, give me $50 cash).
