Help Droid X problem, having to remove battery, all the time

Captaintf

Need help with a little problem, with my Dx when I push the lock button to put it in my pocket or just to simply just lay there. But after just a minute or two from when the screen turns off, its like it turns off. Except that I cant turn it back on until I take the battery out and put it back in, and then it will start back up. It does this every time, has anyone else had this problem? Any info on the issue would be very appreciated.

That's really odd... how long have you had your phone? It might be worth it to do a factory reset to wipe ALL the data and start fresh. Then, if the problem persisted you would know you'd need a warranty replacement.

It also could be an application hogging you down. If you post what apps you have installed, we could make recommendations of anything odd....

Have you upgraded to the latest verizon update? Just came out a few days ago. Go to Settings --> About Phone --> Check for Updates. Always worth a try as well, since it will refresh most of your system files!

Yes my 1st Droid did that and I carried it back to Verizon. They couldnt fix it nor knew what was wrong. They suspected a software problem and issued me a new one which meant going through all the resetting of the data. I use it on a corporate sync account.

I have had a similar problem, maybe the same problem. 6 times in the last 4 days I have had to take my battery out, put it back in, try to turn on the phone, to unfreeze it... When that hasn't worked, I try the same thing again and let it sit for a few minutes before I try to turn it back on. I have seen a couple different screens when the freeze/locked up occurs... it has a constant white screen with motorola M symbol, or a 2 sec intermitant blink of the M symbol/logo. I've tried holding the power off button, the home button. Nothing will unfreeze it, besides taking the battery off and putting it back in. My battery life is always above 50% when this happens. I didn't have one extra app on my phone (whatever stock apps are on is all I had) to lead me to believe that might be the problem... I haven't tried the hard reboot, but will be taking the phone in later today to get a verizon store's help to solve the problem... I will re-post if I they provide a fix for me...
