Root Droid x stuck in infinite loop! Freaking out!

Awesome! Glad your back up and running.

Let us know when your ready to flash a new ROM, it may seem difficult now but once you do it and see all the possibilitys that open up not to mention how much better your phone will run, you'll wonder why you waited.

But before you start thinking along those lines check out the "all things root" sticky at the top of the section, read the links it contains, ASK QUESTIONS whenever you need to and soon enough you too will become a mod crazy ROM-aholic like the rest of us lol. :D

Oh im ready for a new rom. Im tired of all this bloatware crap on my phone. So how do i do this rom business. Heres what i have gotten so far : Rom manager, clockwork mod, and the root browser. So direct me.

For some reason when I try to reboot using boot strap, it wont take me to the clockwork menu. Or whatever menu is used to select the liberty rom

did you press the top button before pressing the bottom button? You need to wait for a response before you press the bottom button.

Do you have the following files in /system/app: hijack, logwrapper, and logwrapper.bin? if not that might be the problem.

it will say sucess even if you arent rooted; from experience.
did he try another app such as titanium just to open it and make sure he is asked for root permission by super user?

I know when deleting those files it removes CWM from the phone so they should be required for it to work.

Did you get CWM working? I would assume since you posted about liberty. Anyway let me know and I can still try and get those files to you.
