So VZW will be announcing the VZW variant of the Samsung Galaxy S. Everyone expecting this and still getting the Droid X?

What does att have anything to do with this? Two problems. 1. Samsung. 2. AT&T.

I didn't expect this but I should still be getting the Droid X. Two reasons: 1) Word is that Samsung doesn't support their hardware with regular updates. 2) They stripped the Fascinate of the front facing camera that was in the Samsung Galaxy S in Europe. They would've had me though if they kept that FF camera in there...atleast to try it for 30 days, LOL.

Had a Samsung phone a while back (the Glyde)....worst touch screen ever. It was honestly such a bad experience I will NEVER buy a Samsung phone ever again. Ever. In my life.
As much as I love Samsung TVs, monitors, and other electronics... their cellphones haven't been exactly impressive. It's weird because their Asian versions offer so much more than their US version.
Well, it really seems like Samsung is coming out swinging with this one. I took a look at youtube at examples of 720p video clips from both the motorola droid and the samsung galaxy S, and the galaxy records video that is MUCH CLEARER and MUCH SHARPER, than the motorola droid. With that said, here is how I would compare them from what I have read:
WHAT THEY HAVE IN COMMON
1) LED flash
2) 720p recording
3) 45nm processors
4) DLNA
5) support for divx
6) A skin over stock android UI
WHERE MOTOROLA DROID X WINS
1) Beat out the galaxy S in Android Central's benchmarks:
2) Larger screen by 0.3"
3) Greater screen resolution of 848
Im sticking. With x because it to me seems more for me and i worry about shortage problems sincr all carriers have it especially for screens just look at the incredible which uses similiar screens
Samsung's track record has not been so good up to today.
But as a company, one as big as Samsung Electronics, they would be making a big mistake if they don't support a phone that is launched in 100's of countries not to mention all 4 major carriers in the US. With that being said I would like a hybrid of X and Galaxy S. 4.3inch screen, hummingbird's gpu, OMap's cpu, vanilla android of X, looks of Galaxy S.
++For the techies like me samsung support wouldn't matter with a phone so widely available and so many developers/hackers available++
+++I will wait and see what HTC has in its queue+++
