Root Droid X

Bob Cat

Careful, They're sharp!!
Well I'm an Eris user however I know someone that was thinking of getting an X and asked me if it had any issues. Being that I'm an Eris user ( waiting on the new goodies to come out ) I told him I'd check with the fine folks in X community. So any problems/regrets?

I see people reading the post. No comments?

In this forum you are kind of preaching to the choir when giving an opinion but I will say it is the best smartphone I have owned. I was worried about some of the precautions that were taken to make the phone difficult to mod but with all the current workarounds I have my Droid rooted and customized to where I want it.

When I bought the phone I had no knowledge of ROMs, locked bootloader etc. But seeing how I use the phone now, I probably would have gotten one without a locked down bootloader to be able to flash more ROM options. Other then that, great phone.

Part of the reason you're seeing views but no responses is because this kind of thread has been covered over and over and over again.

I'm not trying to be the so-called "search nazi" - just letting you know why people may not be responding. It's tiring to type the same thing several times.

There have been several threads specifically on people switching from the Eris to the Droid X, actually.

Boy that was brutal. Without being rude I was simply asking if the people in this forum that have the X liked it. If one would read my post a little closer they would see that I was asking for a friend that was thinking on getting an X. I am happy with my Eris and have no intentions of changeing. Maybe I should ask the people in the Eris forum that have X's. Thanks

My smartphone experience has been as follows:

BB Pearl > BB Storm > BB Storm 2 > Eris (Downgrade IMO) > Droid X.

I was a HUGE fan of my Storm 2, but IMHO the Droid X blows away all the competition.

Didn't mean it to be brutal, you just posed the question of why people were reading without responding.

I thought the Eris threads would be helpful because you could share your Android experience with your friend, but also be able to see some of the differences your friend would experience with the X.
