Root Droid X2 Links: ROMs, SBFs, OTA updates, Mods and Scripts

Eclipse 2.0.2 is out. He was unable to update Changelog yet, but if you follow him on twitter, direct download link is there.

lol So 2.0 only lasted a few hours, and 2.0.1 only lasted a couple days. I'm on 2.0.1 now, and the only problem I have is the same one I have across multiple custom ROMs, that sometimes WiFi won't find and connect to any networks until open the WiFi settings.

Yup. I was messing with some scripts and did someone that required a bat. pull and I f*cked up my date and time again :(. My phone believe its 7:00 PM, January 1st, 1970. It was like 8:00 AM...

ok, im from virgin mobile i run a rooted and rom'd moto triumph, and i breeze thru it like its cake, new rom every hour never a problem, im trying to take my brothers rooted dx2 on 2.3.5 and put the alien rom on it, but this is all very different, i know i could do it but everything seems to leave bits out and its confusing me, alien or the eclipse, would sumone be kind enough to pm me thru this, im not an idiot so it wont take long =p

CyanogenMod 9.0.0 RC0 Alpha 3 is here!! Welcome to Ice Cream Sandwich!!

[ROM][ALPHA][ICS]CyanogenMod 9.0.0 RC0 Alpha3 - xda-developers

I took a chance and threw on CM9 and Apex Launcher (over CM7). This thing runs smooth. The camera doesn't work, but my mms does (haven't tried pic messages yet), as well as my data and 3g. Hasn't crashed yet, but it's been less than a day. I turned off the display rotate, just in case. And I did throw on chrome to see what happens. It works well enough to import all my true chrome bookmarks so I can import them into other things on my phone, but crashes mostly.

So, minus the camera and chrome, it's running just fine for me.

I'm glad to see it as well. It has glitched on me a few times, not using the correct patched BSR makes you have to SBF and re-install but for an Alpha release this is great!

There's a debate as to what was placed on Motorola's blog as to the reason why they didn't put ICS on devices with less than 1GB of RAM to which I can understand. 2.3.4 was "bearable" once you hacked your way around it but Cyanogen has me convinced that blur is pure evil.

I blame Motorola for putting out so many Gingerbread-only devices so quickly back to back. I would have been really upset if I had bought a Droid 3 and found out that a Droid 4 was around the corner. Verizon is equally trying to really push 4G devices so they can force people to get off the unlimited data plans. No customer loyalty. I will definitely be choosing my next device wisely. God bless the hackers community!

Bump.
Updated links, added and clarified SBF and OTAs, added 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich ROMs, misc updates.

Eclipse 2.3 is out!

Changelog:
v2.3 - 7/25/12
Removed the framework to point to all AOSP resources (so we now have the AOSP buttons, etc..)
Lag between switching apps is nearly gone
Modified OOM groupings and system priority
Increased scrolling cache - very smooth now
Added some transparency to the pull down
Themed Swype to match the standard keyboard
Enhanced sound quality with beats and fixed DSP to work with beats libs
Locked launcher in memory
Fixed website resolving issue
Updated Email app to natively support Yahoo mail

Its a nice concept and its features are very unique. I imagine it would look great on a nexus or galaxy s3 but i would rather wait till kexec is done and the cm9 roms become smoother.

This is a Great Mod, Thanks to Dragonzilla (or something like that)

I installed the CM9,the gapps and the MX2 wifi patch. Everything works great so far except I have no wifi. I downloaded a couple of apps and widgits to turn wifi on/off but no luck. At a loss of what to do next to fix this. Should I have ran the MX2 wifi patch for the droid X2? What should I try next?

Is there a way to go back and uninstall just the Wifi patch and try it or do I have to reflash the whole works?

You have to flash it back to 2.3.4, it's pretty easy to do with RSD lite. You may have to find the instructions from this or another forum, but I'm 98% sure you have to revert to 2.3.4 before you can root or flash a ROM.

MX2 = Milestone X2 (MB867)
DX2 = Droid X2 ((MB870)
they are different phones, different radios anyways
reflash cm9

all rom are flashed on 2.3.4, except eclipse 2.3 (any eclipse over 1.3)

Nm I had to dl it on my phone and I can transfer from there. But if anyone has any advice I'd gladly accept it, I've only done my prevail but am now exploring this X2.

if you are looking for drivers to connect your device to your PC from the CD that came in the box then you can find them HERE. Is there another reason you need the CD?
