Root Droid x2 remove root without gingerbreak or root app installed

I bought my droid x2 off of ebay and apparently it is rooted. Either the root program is messing up the phone or it has some sort of malfunction in it. I would like to remove the root and restore it to normal factory state. However, the person who had the phone before me removed the application that rooted it. Is there anyway to reset the phone?

Flash back to stock.
Look in the Newbie Start Point thread in the All Things Root subforum.

when i go to put it in RSD mode it says Starrting RSD protocol support and never goes anywhere from there. just gets stuck

When you start RSD mode, it's actually supposed to stop there. Once you see "Starting RSD protocol support" you're set. It's misleading, and it stumped me. I had to search for days to figure out how to get my phone back to stock after I bricked it. You should be fine.:)
