Root DroidMod 1.0 and glitches

I was looking up a map location and pressed enter for directions and the screen went blank and started loading, showing the DroidMod ani. I also noticed a few times I could not get the virtual keyboard to work when responding to a text. This is my first venture out of bugless beast.

I really got to stop listening to the hype. There are some members here who, if they are not presently, need to seriously consider a career in online marketing. The way you guys go on and on about the flawlessness and speed of a dev's new ROM and then I try it only to have it completely fart. Not saying you're lying, I just think sometimes there's this urge to hype other people's things up, not sure what social psychologists would call it but it's a definite trend.

What clock speed are you running, I was having a bunch of issues like that after setcpu updated. found my clock speed at 1.2 ghz. after knocking back down to 1.0 ghz i have not had any re-booting issues.

My better keyboard had that glitch but after an update its back to normal. I have had a very good experience with 1.0. Are you running a home replacement that might be give you problems?

yeup, roms are overrated here. one thing im really annoyed is how everyone said that overclocking will make all scrolling and sliding silky smooth.

*waits for people to refute me even though i have an ipod touch myself and can compare side by side that an overclocked droid will NEVER be as smooth. oh and ive tried droidmod and sholesmod

I also have an ipod touch and I really don't understand that comparison. The touch runs one application at a time on a screen less than one-fifth the droid's resolution without the added processing tasks of maintaining a cell signal, multi-tasking, etc... And even so, I've had perfectly smooth scrolling using a modest overclock of 800 on droidmod 1.0 and that's with live wallpapers and plenty of background apps running. All I'm saying is, it seems like you're expecting a lot from a device that has a lot more on its plate than the ipod touch.

Agreed... It's like if the ipod was a steak, and Apple is the restaurant. And steak is the ONLY thing they served, it had better be damned perfect if Apple is to survive. If you want beans, they have to remove the steak from your table and bring you beans. If you want another bite of steak, they take the beans and bring you steak. So you order steak, and it IS damned good. And you love it. As do others.

Then along comes the Droid (or similar phone)... it's steak, PLUS, wine, buttered bread, mashed potatoes, baked beans, broccoli, and a nice cheesecake -- all on the table at the same time, if you wish. If you want something heated up or switched out, no problem. It's whatever you want, whenever you want it. But with all that, every now and then, the beans may be a little cold, or maybe they forget to bring butter.

I heven't seen the PERFECT phone yet, but what I have is pretty damned close, as far as what today's available technology offers. Just know that whatever resurant you choose, it's possible that the beans may be a little cold, or that there may be something else not quite 100% to your liking. Either way, you'll probably find that steak with all the extras will usually be so much more enjoyable than just steak alone.

Cuz you haven't seen MINE lately.
