Help Droidon't support Animated Gif?

Funny thing, huh. This thread was brought up back in 2009, now we're in 2012 and Android still don't natively support animated GIF's. Any workarounds available? And also, I'm curious, say I want to send a "Happy Easter" MMS to a friend. I don't have any to forward, but want to pull it from scratch. I find a funny animated GIF on the web, that I download to the phone. Now, I don't see the animation in my phone. However, if I include the file, will it display properly on the receiver's phone, assuming that he or she has eg. an old fashioned phone, able to decode animations?

Even funnier thing: exactly one year later and my droid still has trouble running gifs. GG android.

Goldenblood, welcome :hello: and nice of you to come along.

Looks like the Motorola A855 Droid 1 (OG) is limited by what version of Android it can run and probably will never support animated .gif files.

I can see animated .gifs on the phone I run now using Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
