Welcome to the forums, Jenrocks!

Do you have a Droid 3 (has a keyboard) or a Droid X2? They are completely different phones.

Root means getting special access to customize your phone or use special apps to delete system apps that otherwise cannot be removed. It's similar to jailbreaking an Iphone.

Anyways, the Droid 3 is not capable of root but the Droid X2 is. Here are the forums you might want to check out depending on which phone you have.
