drois vs. palm pre plus

Oh absolutely. She looked like that queen lady from Lord of the Rings. It would actually dissuade me from choosing a Palm and distracted people from the real star of the show - just how tightly integrated and intuitive WebOS is.

Bingo! And that was one of most brilliant posts in a long time. What incentive do devs have in developing apps for a fragmented marketplace where the OS is in constant flux? It actually benefits Palm (and Apple for that matter) to just have one device. Be that as it may, the Palm is able to appeal to a broader consumer with both the Pre+ and Pixi+.

From the constraint viewpoint, I agree. But from the selection to get the eyeballs, no. With only the vertical slider, Palm is losing lots of people. And I don't think they are big enough to make hw fast enough with some variations. In fact, I wonder why apple doesn't at least make an iphone with a kybd.

Have you actually used the Palm keyboard? It's quite good and the Pre+ is supposed to be better. If you've ever used a BB, it's second nature. In fact, I think the Pre+ on VZW wins the BB crowd that's looking for more from their smartphone that RIM isn't offering.

And as far as APPL, their fanboys will gobble up anything they throw out there. If the next iPhone had a keyboard and went non-virtual, you'd hear fanboys proclaiming it as the best move on earth!

Web Os is beautiful and genius! I only wish the size of the phone was bigger and more flat. I would love it if they got a sleeker design and a virtual keyboard.

The old sprint phone itsself was very plastic, and felt slippery and cheap in the hand. But the new Verizon version has been tweaked a tad because of those issues.

No matter how bad the Pre's keyboard might be it is still light years ahead of the DROID's. Personally I don't like the BB form factor, if they had a landscape slider I would give it another try. Has anyone seen the dev kit for webOS? It is incredible, looks very simple to use even for newcomers. Competition for Android is good so I hope the Pre+ does great on VZW (just not good enough to knock Android out of the spotlight on VZW). I already use 2 phones so picking up a webOS phone on a family plan with my DROID would be nice.

If Palm was gonna die it would have already happened. They had fallen very very hard, and if a company as craptastic as Motorola can come back then don't think Palm can't.

Major gaming isn't comming to android until app storage increases(or they allow sd storage) but the major problem is hardware variance. Just like u don't see many games on windows mobile.
Yeah, and just like Windows PCs don't have real games because of all the different hardware... oh wait. ;)

Notice though that Google has had a hand in the 3.7" screens with the same resolution. Maybe Google is setting a precendence. First the Droid, now the Nexus. Same res screens, same kind of Google influences. Perhaps they are starting to show what their vision for Android *really* is?

I just feel that it would depend on what you are looking for. I recommended the pre to my gf, and I can't wait till it comes to Verizon so we can play with the phone together, and maybe I can convince her to buy her first smart phone (hopefully the Verizon sales reps will leave us alone!) I love my android, but she wants something easier to use. I feel the pre would be a great phone fore her.

I just love the interface of the pre I wouldn't mind having the pre.... they just need to get google navigation into it. ha!

I used to own a palm nice phones but very diff from a Droid, I don't understand why you are so undecided, go with a Droid lol.
JK, good luck deciding.

droid is better, it has the best poop-your-pants notification for text messages in the middle of the night

DROIIIIIIIIIIID

LOL
That gets my vote for the most annoying feature of all. :D
"Your phone was making noise last night....."

And regarding the Pre, it's a good phone on a good network, but Palm bet it all on that gadget, and they're not doing so well with it. It will never catch up with Android.

Actually, different res screen. Same 3.7" but the N1 is missing almost 26,000 pixels as a result of it's 800x480 res compared to the DROID's 854x480. The Sony X10 will have a DROID sized screen and resolution.

My bad. I must have remembered something from the "leaked specs" which were popping up like daisys on the web...

I have read that Verizon's version of the Pre's slider has been improved and the keys have been slightly changed.(less spongy)

If the Pre was built better I might pick one up.

The WebOs browser is awesome.

Sometimes this forum makes me feel like I've been transported back to the 80's BBS days with Apple //e vs. Commodore 64, Mac vs. PC (hey wait, that's still going on!) and Amiga vs. Atari ST vs. Apple IIgs.

The Apple "war boards" were the nastiest, at least in my area. Still have Wildcat BBS software sitting on the shelf
