Dropbox is testing a new beta with picture and video support. If you download the update and then upload one picture, you get 500 MB additional space for free. But then it gets better, for every 500 MB you upload, you get an additional 500 MB up to 5 GB total.

I took a hundred or so photos of my foot with my 12 MP digital SLR and promptly got my second 500 MB. Then I took a 6 minute 1080p video of my foot with my Nexus and am waiting for that to upload.

When you connect your phone to your computer, be sure to enable camera (ptp) mode for the USB connection.
 
ya you get 500megs FREE for every 500megs of uploaded Vids/Photos.. Maximum 5gigs free!!!!
 
how do you install this.. i installed i but i dont see a difference? do i just upload the vids and Photos into the Photo album?

Just take some pictures and plug in your camera or Nexus. If you use the Nexus, select PTP (camera) mode. It should recognize your camera or phone and then ask you whether you want to upload pictures. It will create a new folder in your Dropbox called "camera uploads."

Make sure you backup your Dropbox folder first and regularly just in case.
 
I did it through just inserting an SD card full of pictures into my laptop. An autoplay dialogue box pops up the first option of which is to transfer files to Dropbox.

The new files go into a directory on your PC under Dropbox called 'Camera Uploads' these are then synced with the same directory in your Dropbox cloud account.
 
i was reading on the FAQ and you can do it through your WIFI with the latest build but i cant find the latest build for android...

and sorry lobatt i am a newb at smartphones let alone android..

When i plug my phone in.. doesny ask me for ANYTHING... am i missing something?
 
ok i pulled the notification bar down and changed to PTP but still drop box isnt asking me to do anything
 
ok i got it.. thanks for your help.. you DONT need to be Tethered to your PC at all if you dont want. mine does it through WIFI.. you can do Data also if you want but i chose WIFI
