dropbox/kobo help

Lurker
So on my I4 I'd just download the epub from my dropbox acct and the iPhone with say "open with"? I'd select Kobo or ibooks and the epub would open in the appropriate app.

Now I've tried it with my skyrocket and it asks me what file/folder or app I want to use. Ill select Kobo and goto the epub folder inside of Kobo and copy it. Doesn't work. I've tried several different folders but none will allow me to open my epub on my phone. If I'm gonna have to pull the SD card everytime then that's gonna suck. Any help would be appreciated.

I want to open dropbox on my phone, download my epub file and open the epub with Kobo. Input? Advice? Help please.

Thanks,

Last year I tried the Kobo app and failed to import 3rd party epub.
EDIT: Just read now it should be possible :)
When the epub is in /Kobo/epub start the app and search for the import function.
"Open your Kobo reader app and open the menu. There will beanoption titledImport Content." Press it! A dialogue will come up telling you what Kobo is doing, so just click Start. Then you'll see all the epub books you just put on your SD card, with a check next to it. Check all the items you wish to import, press "Import Selected," and *BAM* ...you've just put books on your Android"

But why Kobo?
There are several good epub reader like Aldiko, Moon+ Reader or Mantano Reader which haven't a import problem :)

Harry2,
Thanks for your help. Ill try it out when I get a minute.

As far as reader choice ; I'm assuming you believe those others better? I'm open to suggestions? It must have a night reading mode tho.

I used Kobo on my iPhone that's why I picked it. Are others better?
Thanks,

As I said I tried the Kobo app last year.
So I only can say: This other readers are better than the last year Kobo ;)
They are worth a look.

But maybe you use the Kobo system for syncing books, annotations and bookmark by the Kobo Server over all platforms (PC/Mac, mobile OS ...). Than Kobo should be your choice :)
It's like the Kinde system, but unlike Kindle, it uses the standard epub format ... which is a good thing :)

I use Mantano Reader which, I think, is well worth the $7.49 asking price. One thing to keep in mind, unlike iOS, Android does allow you access to the file system without having to jailbreak. Most ebook reading apps will allow you to just browse to whatever folder you saved your epub in. You can also set "sync" folders in most apps telling the reader where you store your ebooks.

I gotta try some others besides kobo I guess. I use my phone to read alot its my choice of ereader, and I haven't picked up my nook color in a year. My daughter. er uses it tho.
