Help Dropouts Using iHeart and TuneIn Radio

When I use either iHeart or TuneIn Radio on my HTC Evo 4G, it plays fine for at least 4 - 6 minutes. Then, there is no sound for a couple of minutes until the programming I was listening to comes on again.

Is this a buffering issue, is there simply insufficient memory in my phone, is it a processor issue or what?

Please explain what this problem is and if there is a solution besides replacing the phone.

it could be a buffering issue. how good is your data signal? are you on wifi? you can also try and clear cache for those apps as well.

My data is not as fast as I'd like, but it's consistent. No, I'm not on wifi when this happens. I assume that I can clear the cache before using an internet radio streaming service. If it's a buffering issue, I just may have a problem without a solution for this device, anyway. Thanks.
