***NOTE ONLY DO THIS IN A STATIC FREE AREA***
***NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR DAMAGES, this is how i got my pics***
i had a similar problem...it wasnt water damage, i actually cracked the screen of the phone. but what i did was i had the insurance (which is a joke), and couldnt pull my pictures. since i had the insurance i got the exact same phone. which i took to the att store to get the pictures, hey werent helpful...

so i took both phones apart and used the mobo from the old one and the screen from the new one and plugged it into the computer coppied everything including my contacts. how i did this was there are 6 (torx) star screws, you can see the 4, the other 2 are under the battery release plate, to get at these, gently pull up on the middle(thee is a small plastic tab that needs to clear an edge) and slide down(away from the phone) that is the 6 screws. gently open the phone, and you will have the component pieces the screen is attached at the top of the board by an inch/inch and a half ribbon thing, just pop it off and pull the screen away, attach the other screen and put the battery in... with all luck it should turn on, i dont remember if the micro usb is hardwired to the mobo, if it isnt then you might change that too before attaching it to the computer.

i dont know if this will help anyone
good luck

Hey guys my S2 went down the loo and its working fine except it wont read my sim how can I fix this please help me I need it for work thanks Kiah xx

Well, mine took a dive into the you-know-where last night. I fished it out immediately, took the back case off, dried it, dried every part behind the case I could get at and let it dry for a few hours. Turned it on and functionality came back slowly. Thought I was out of the woods when I went to turn it on this morning and it was deader than dead.

I took it to a local cell phone repair place and they pulled the motherboard out. there was a tiny bit of corrosion on the important side and lots of white and chemical deposits on the other side. My heart sank. They put it in a special chemical bath twice and it came back online good as new. I think I got lucky, but let it be a lesson. It might work okay for a bit, but look up the nearest CPR store for tomorrow it may croak =(

I dropped my S2 in a bowl of ramen noodles last night, and followed this advice I found on YouTube:

How to repair any water damaged phone in 1 HOUR!!! - YouTube

It works!

The only thing I did different was to unscrew the back of the phone to expose the motherboard, then dunked isoprophyl alcohol (99.7% pure) for about 1.5 hours or so, removed wiped off excess fluid then bury in a container of rice for a couple of hours.

My son's dropped his GT-S5570 in water. I've dried it out over about a week. When I switch it on it gets as far as the Galaxy Min GT-S5570 screen and then freezes. Any suggestions please?

It works 100% now so thanks for the advice, the only problem is the camera isn't working, the screen turns black when I open up the picture capturing screen.. Any solutions?

Hi guys, em junaid from Pakistan
I dropped my Samsung Galaxy S2 in toilet last night
but it remained in the water for not more than 1.5 seconds
I picked out the cell phone instantly
afterwords I tried to restart my cell phone for 2 or 3 times but I was unable to do so
i set apart all the components and try to make my cell dry
I even used the hair dryer in the morning
but didn't try to put back the battery and to start the cell again

I read the reviews posted by the users and now I put my cell phone and battery in rice in a box covered with shopping bag. and put it on the floor under sunlight

I just wanna ask how much time I should give to my cell phone to get dry ?
as in Pakistan we now have temperature raised upto 30 Degrees Celsius

Kindly guide me what should I do ? for how much time I must left my cell in the sun light.

kindly reply quick :(

Hey guys my galaxy s was fallen in a water bucket and it starts and shows the starting screen then after that nothing happens I have opened the full phone with screws also now what should I do..
PLEASE HELP.....

i dropped my phone in water yesterday and as soon as i did it i pulled the phone out, i quickly just got told to use the hair dryer after taking the back off and taking the batery out, after thinking that the phone was dry because i have never been it that situation before i put my batery in and turned my phone back on, and i was amazed that everything worked okay.. i tryed to take a picture with the back camera and it was abit misty at first but then quickly disapeared but the front camera was still clouded. about an hour later i realised what looked like water running really slowly down my screen, starting at the top which made the picture go like a blue colour and then just turned dark, the out side of the screen went black first the the middle of the screen did the same. it took about a couple of hours for the screen to turn completly black . i then turned my phone off took the batery, sim card, memory card out then took the back off the phone so you could see the inside of the phone, then put it in rice and put it in the airing cupboard.. left it over night and then tryed again but no different, but the phone still works fine but it is just the screen that is completely black, any ideas of what it could be would be a great help.
