Not gonna lie, im pretty angry!

Got a nice big scratch on the screen!

No further damage! Does anyone know if it is repairable? If so how much do you think it'd cost?

Was gonna get screen protectors on Monday too!

Thanks in advance!

Gutted

The first thing my wife did when I got my DHD was make me get a screen protector. The day after i dropped it in the floor well in my work van and it landed face down on a small stone, took a nick out of the protector but nothing on the screen. I love my wife:rolleyes:

Yeah - gutted mate... I'm so clumsy, buying a screen protector was one of the first things I did! Iwould imagine that you should be able to get it repaired though!

I dropped mine the other day and tried to slow the fall with my foot but ended up kicking down the sidewalk. I have the otterbox case and a screen protector and my dhd didn't have a mark on it. It did scratch the case a little but that's what it's for.

My daughter dropped her HTC Desire, had no case or screen protector on at the time, and smashed the screen. A local mobile repair shop wants

Feel gutted for you!

I've got a tiny scratch in the corner of my dhd and you can see it when the light shines a certain way and it pisses me off so much when I see it.

Couldn't imagine a cracked screen -_-

I think that's what I need, as the scratch is on there! Is this easier to fit than the whole screen unit?

Depends. HTC were having issues with their UK repair centre so turn around time was circa 6 weeks at one point....

A friend of mine sent his DHD in late last month and it took around three weeks because they were moving repair centres, or so they claimed.

I think I read their target is supposed to be 10 working days so that's not too bad actually. Did he have to chase much?

Yeah, he spoke to them several times. Plus they managed to lose his battery when they shipped it back, so it was quite a lot of hassle.

my philosophy is, when you buy something expensive..cough up the extra bucks for warranty and accessories to keep it safe, if possible. when I bought my DHD i bought 1 year warranty for 10 bucks, screen protector(had the shop do it) and bought a case.

hi. I have dropped my dhd as well it had a big mark on the corner of the aluminum housing and proximity sensor stopped working.I went to carphonewarehouse to repair it. I have insurance too. They sent it away, however it was a warranty claim, not the insurance. After 9 days it was ready to collect. When I arrived at the shop to collect the phone they simply gave me a brand new exchange, seems like repairig the old phone was too expensed or something. Now I have the otterbox commuter on it and it's great. Highly recommend.

Can't beat protecting your DHD, as I'm sure many will testify! :)

We purchased the DHD for our daughter on 28 January 2011. We also purchased the protective case with fold over flap....daughter then proceeded to take the phone OUT of the case, place in her uniform skirt pocket while she was playing school sports....obviously the phone fell out of her pocket onto the bitumen netball court and has smashed her screen.

There was no additional warranty offered with the phone so we are now trying to save up for it to be repaired. Any idea where we can get this done in Brisbane, Australia?
