Dual Sim Adapter for the Samsung Galaxy S2

Ive got the magicsim also. All was working fine until i messed around a bit. I picked from the toolkit menu to have the 007 mode (this is where you type into the phone 001 for sim 1 or 002 for sim2).

Since then my phone has all but stopped working. The toolkit.apk has completely vanished and if i put in two sims the phone locks up or i get an overtemp or undertemp battery warning and it won't charge.

The biggest issue i have. I leave for China tomorrow and need to have this working.

Does anyone have the toolkit.apk I could try to re-install to get this thing working again?

Or any other suggestions

wow what a ball ache...

I've had to do a factory reset then reinstall all the apps and data via titanium backup.. im now faced with my googlemail account force closing every time i open it..

my other mail accounts are doing strange things also.. sometimes working, sometimes not.. very strange..

I'm a rooted user.. and think I may need to get back to basic and build it from the ground up again. How do I remove root and get back to stock.. any ideas

UPDATE:

I've now lost the ability to receive SMS.. I can send, but not receive.. What the hell is going on

Not sure what you've done there mate?! No problem like that at all for me, or on any other forums I've read. Probably your rom, go back to the standard rom and work from there i'd guess!

Is it possible to get calls on both network when it is in standby mode. (i mean with out switching from current network to other we will be able to get calls in 2nd network) or you want to switch manually to other network to access calls.

I believe it is with this...

Gmate Dual SIM, Dual Standby device for your Smartphone. Have 2 SIM cards active at the same time on your iPHONE or Android Phone.

I've not tried it but a friend of mine has one with his SGS2 and it works real well.

Got a Magicsim 28th gen plus for my Galaxy s2 and i can also confirm its working well.

It's also working with my '3 network' SIM which i'm very pleased about!

Btw i'm running 2.3.5 if that helps anyone?

I ended up going for the no-cut version as i didn't want to cut down my SIM's.. This is the one...

I got a Magicsim 28th gen too last week, but 1 sim won't work when other with 3G.

Hi all I also got the MagicSim No Cutting 28th after reading this post. Took about 10days or so to arrive. Works well.

Note there are 2 modes of operation. One is the traditional SIM menu where you select the number. The other is the so called 007 which after you switch it on it is not immediately obvious how it works, and I paniced because the SIM menu disappears. Close read of the little postage stamp instruction reveals that in this mode you simply dial 001 or 002 on the phone to switch b/w sims, and to put it back to normal STK mode you dial 007!! Although technically this modes works - i'd stick with the standard STK mode. I just have a shortcut on my utility home page for the Sim Menu for easy access to switching. supposedly 007 works in 70% of phones but it sounds like it depends on the network also.

I am in Aus and switching b/w TPG 3G/H/H+ (super value plan checkit out!) and Optus 3G work sim. The work sim does not allow data, so when switching to that number it 'logs off' twitter, google account, and others. When I switch back to TPG I have to enter all their passwords again to log back in to them - small price to pay.

I noticed sometimes if you switch it too fast from one to the other and back again - it gets confused and wont log on to either. But by avoiding this (>5min b/w switching) it works fine.

Note I have both phone numbers set to forward to the other 'when unreachable' so no matter which number I am on a call will get through. Unfortunately the networks wont allow you to forward Sms messages on - or at least I haven't figured out how to do that yet.

So all in all it works well after a bit of knowledge about how to use it!! Highly recommended.

Well I took delivery of the Magic Sim 28th today, after reading this thread a few days ago and deciding to order one for my Samsung Galaxy SII.

Installed it as instructed, turned phone on and..................

Nothing........

Doesn't seem to recognise the magic sim. There is no extra option for it in the main menu, it only seems to recognise the sim in the Sim 1 slot.

Anybody have any ideas? I'm running a standard, non-rooted phone (I've not had it long - does it have ot be rooted to use this?) and I'm on version 2.3.4 in the UK (I've checked for updates, but it says non is available) any help would be appreciated.

(I have contacted magic sim directly, but not sure on their weekend response times and would like to try and get this working ASAP)

Thanks :)

Hi guys,

I'm new here, but after reading this thread decided to order a MAGIC-SIM 28th gen PLUS no-cut for my Galaxy S2. What a brilliant service....

It arrived the next day, was simple to use (i just basically put it into my phones sim slot, turned the phone on and it was working!) and i finally can switch from sim to sim in a matter of seconds.

Thanks again, so glad i found this little device. I got this model for anyone wanting the same thing...

Thanks

Liam:)

Only one other thing to add - even though it has Eng/Ita/Ger language - it's laregly irrelevant as there is hardly any language to read, it's just a list of 2 numbers to switch between!! So if you use another language it really doesn't matter much!

Brilliant! Thanks to this thread i ordered one from magic-sim.com, it arrived within 2 days and its working beautifully on my Galaxy S2!

Thanks guys, awesome device!! :)

Hi Guys,

I recently bought a dual sim adapter for my S2 from Dual SIM Card Adapter -MAGICSIM- Dual SIM 3G HSPDA UMTS

Just wanted to recommend it on here as its a brilliant device for anyone thats looking for a dual sim adapter for their SG2. It didn't require cutting my sim cards or anything like that, it was just plug and play.

Here's a video actually of how it works...

Hope this is helpful to someone.

Yea i've got one of these also from the same place. Its a great device, saved me the hastle of physically swapping my sims all the time.

No no reboot needed. Simply switches over like the video shows (takes about 4 seconds to switch)

Hope this helps!

I have purchased one of these and though it does work for voice calls on both sims I cannot send/receive data for sms messages, emails, facebook, etc.
Is anyone else having this problem?
