Dumb question

don't know if there is a guide but here is how to do what you want.
Assuming that your sdk folder was installed directly on you c drive
1. Open up a command window
2. Get to your folder, on my pc it's "cd C:\android-sdk-windows\tools"
3. Type "adb shell" you should get a "#" sign
4. Type "top -m 5 -n 1"

BTW, it's not a dumb question. Good luck!
