Help Duplicate contacts and calendar

I have an HTC Incredable. After a few days, both the contacts and calendar more than double in size with duplicates. Anyone have this issue?

After I had used it a while, HTC Sync suddenly began making some contacts (which it selected on principles I was unable to determine) multiply like rabbits. I finally just stopped using it.
