Help Duplicate contacts!

I just got my HTC inspire and the guy at ATT helped me load all my contacts from my sim card to my new phone but then a few days later i had like two of all my contacts which was annoying but i just shrugged it off. now i have SIX of every contact can someone please help me !

Have you linked any of your contacts like fb or google? Before I linked my contacts I would have like 4 for each (sim, phone, fb, google) I linked phone, fb and google contacts that matched and then unchecked view of sim contacts (method below) so they disappeared

Also while in your contact list when you tap menu - view is everything checked? If so just uncheck whatever you don't want to show.
