Dust In Camera

Anyone had problems with dust getting in-between the camera lens and the glass?
I noticed this a few days ago while taking some pics in the sun.
I kept getting this bright object in all my pics.
Took the phone inside, and sure enough, theres something in there.
It actually looks big, more like a grain of salt or something.
I can't imagine how this would have happened either.
I don't take with me in harsh conditions,
I have a heavy duty case on it, have always babied the hell out of the phone,
and clean everything well a couple times a week.

Don't really know how to go about fixing this one,
and I really need to do something about it because the camera is such a nice feature on this phone.
I'm wondering if Verizon would send me a refurb being that it really is a hardware issue, and I do have insurance.
Or...if they would just try to spin it on me and say that I abused the phone and do nothing. (which is complete BS because there isn't 1 mark on this phone of any sort)
Any thoughts?

There is actually a thin film layer with a center cutout for the camera that comes on all S4's. After time dust and debris can get caught between the film and the lens. If you haven't already removed it, you can do so by carefully using a needle or safety pin to lift the film off. If you have already removed it, I'm at a loss how anything can get stuck inside the sealed lens.

If its not the protective film (which is barely larger than the lens - easily to miss) then I would argue that this is a warranty issue, unless Samsung can show you that the lens / glass / ring around it is damaged

Yeah...I took that piece of plastic off as soon as I got it.
Good tip though, I've seen several people miss that and I would imagine after enough time it could definitely cause an issue.

It's beyond me how something got in there.
To my knowledge, that thing is sealed up pretty well.
I believe there is adhesive holding both the housing on as well as the lens cover.

imo...it almost seems like something would have had to been in there from the start,
or...maybe one of those adhesive points didnt take when it was assembled.

This is my first phone to ever get anything in there like that,
so I'm not too happy about it.
Build quality has always been my gripe about the S4.

Still not sure what I'll do about it yet.
Might even just live with it until something else occurs of more significance,
then get it replaced under that.
Kinda irritating though.
If the light is at just the right angle it can sure ruin a picture.
