Dust under front facing camera?

Does anybody else have this issue with the front facing camera? Dust getting in under the glass? I have a bunch of it and I've only owned the phone for 2 weeks.. google agreed to take it back and send me a new one... just hoping the new phone doesn't suffer the same fate. I knows its only the front facing camera but it looks pretty bad and I don't want it to detract from its resale value down the road.

Anybody else have this issue?

Do you just put your phone in your pants or pocket?

Yup, just in my pants pockets like any other guy. I had an iphone 4 for 2 years prior and never had one speck of dust in any of the camera but the nexus 4 I had a whole plethora of it within the first week.

Im betting its a defect.. Shouldn't matter where you put it, dust shouldnt be in there.. I had my IPhone 4 at the beach about two dozen times, dropped and covered in sand, at work ( as a carpenter ) dust and debris flying everywhere, Including demo, drywall and insulation dust, and I never had anything get under the screen, at the phone was always out in the open

I will say tho, the N4 seems like a pretty solid phone, but Ive only had it for 2 days, so I haven't put it through the paces yet ;)

You are not alone OP...

I would have never noticed this, and I wish I hadn't...lol

Yea it looks like very tiny particles are in there, with mine I see 2 extremely tiny pieces of dust, like really tiny. But I doubt this will affect resale value at all! You need real eagle eyes to catch this one .

Haha sorry man! Yeah mine is more like a fine dusting with a couple larger ones but its definitely not 1 or 2 its more like 30 plus. I'll try to take a pic of it

even if it is there should still be some kind of seal that separates the rest of the phone from the camera.

"Should be"? Tell me about it ... somewhere in these forums is a link to a video of a complete breakdown and re-assemble of the Nexus 4 ... I don't recall any such internal "seals".

Dust is the enemy of every phones screen and camera lens on the face of the planet. You would think some of these phone manufacturers would have learned by now that sealing off certain areas would do a lot of good...oh well, if only this was our biggest problem in life...lol

Same problem here on the metro pcs version. More of an annoyance than anything else to me because I've never used the front facing camera, it's mostly a distraction. It's the same on my wife's as well. Metro pcs says they'll replace it but there are none available. These were purchased in March 2015. I'll post again if I ever get a replacement...
