Help Dust under screen and "specks"

One thing I noticed on the 2 E3D's I looked at is that there seems to be a small issue with dust being stuck under the screen right out of the box. Also, after removing the temporary plastic film that covers the screen, if you angle it in the sun just right, you'll notice small specks on the surface that can't be wiped away. There was also a bunch of dust under the temporary plastic film protector which wasn't very confidence-inspiring. Just an FYI to those who are planning on buying this phone...be sure to inspect the screen in the sun before purchase.

OCD maybe? I grabbed my phone and left the store. Didn't look for light leakage and I didn't check for dust under the screen. Dust is everywhere my friend. Does it bother people to actually power up the phone and not see any dust under the screen, but you see dust when the phone is powered off and underneath sunlight?

I say you are paying for the device so you should inspect the hell out of it and not take a device home unless you are satisfied with it out of the box. I bet the sales rep in the store where you got your EVO 3D from may inspect the phones a little bit more before handing them off to a customer.

Perhaps maybe a little OCD on my part, but, the dust and specks were definitely visible when the screen was on, not just off. Didn't notice this when in indoors... it was only when I started using the phone outside.

I have noticed two dust spots under the display glass...i dont know how they got there, but any suggestions how i can remove them?

Take it in to Sprint service store, and they will take care of it, if you try and damage something then your up Chit creek, let them do it.

I've developed dust under the glass as well. I have started a job in a semi-dusty environment and it has become a bit worse. There is quite a bit in the bottom left corner under the glass.

Well, im from Montenegro...nobody will do hat here, and certainly not for free...:)) i will have to ignore it...:)

I work at a service center. Honestly, the evo 3d is a huge pain to take apart. If a tech even did take it apart for you, we don't work in a clean room environment so theres a good chance that it'll just get worse. Not what you want to hear but that's the reality of it :(

Also I should note that because the EVO 3D hasn't even been out a year (still covered under manufacturers warranty) we aren't even supposed to open them.

I also got one dust speck under mine screen. I contacted HTC about and I put mine Evo 3D for sale.

But not sure what mine next action would be. Let it go for warranty anyway or let that be up to the new owner and buy myself an new HTC Evo 3D.

I'm gonna bump this thread because this is a recurring problem for me. I've had my evo 3d since December, I accumulated a lot of dust under my screen...I got it replaced for free at a sprint store about 1 month ago and already have dust in the same spot( lower left corner). Is this a widespread issue? I really don't want to get my screen replaced every month because of a defect. After searching it seems like this was a problem at release but no knew threads since. Is it something people just deal with? Thanks for the input.

The only way I could see dust getting under the screen is if you got a refurbished phone and not a new one. I can replace a digitizer at my house without getting dust under it and I have cats, dogs, birds and children.

I didn't get my phone replaced, just the screen. It was clean for a month now dust is getting in through the mic hole again.
