DX running fine, how 'bout you?

I know this place emptied out after all the Q4 phones came out. I'm still waiting to find my upgrade phone. Nothing has really grabbed me yet telling me "I'm your next phone." But I'm really in no hurry.

My DX has been running so smooth for the past few weeks. It used to get bogged down and laggy and I'd have to reboot every 6 or 7 days. I'm on day 17 since a reboot and all is well. I "think" the main issue is I upgraded from ADW to ADW EX when it was featured in the 10

Mines still running good, had it since launch day and my contract was up in Aug (i paid retail for my X). I tried the Xperia Play, loved it except for only having 400mb of internal storage and the bulkiness. I then tried the Bionic, hated the pentile screen and the short battery life. Tried the Galaxy Nexus, loved ICS and the screen, hated the lack of signal and battery life.

So like you im waiting on a phone that grabs me. And since my DX is still alive and well im in no hurry, lol.

this place hasnt emptied out, in fact most of us are still here, the DX is an amazing phone, and cannot be portrayed any lower than that. if the bootloader were unlocked, it would possibly be top 3 best android phones

GNex
Evo
Droid OG

if the X was unlocked move Droid OG out of the picture

Mine is still running fine. I'm in no hurry to upgrade. My next purchase will be a tablet. Looking to see what comes out of CES. Right now, my choice is the Transformer Prime TF700T. After I get a tablet, I'll probably strip down the DX to the bare minimum of apps so that I can squeeze out a little more performance and battery life.

The latest 4G phones out now are all rough on the battery. I get all day out of my DX with no problem. I'm waiting for some battery life enhancements, particularly with what I understand 4G consumption to be. I'm also forced to wait to upgrade until 4G makes it out to the wilderness here in Yadkinville, NC.

In the mean time, my DX is certainly a solid phone. Thankfully I can take my time to pick something that incorporates all the phone features on my wish list.

The 4G battery life issues are very easy to deal with when you don't live in a 4G area...just turn off 4G. ;)

Even if you are in a 4G area, the typical tactic is to only turn on 4G if you have to download something large.

mine is good on latest liberty as well. my home hardware button is isnt raised anymore though :/

Mine's still running good. I'm on MIUI right now. Like how smooth and snappy it is, and the battery life is the best I've had. I don't care much for the iPhone like interface, but If I took the time to organize my apps into folders, it probably wouldn't be too bad.

I liked Liberty, but for some reason the developer failed to include a silent option in the notification choices. Kind of annoying when I have a profile manager controlling sounds for different times of the day.

I'm going to try to hold out for my last NE2 discount in March. None of the current phones are "must haves" for me. The Gnex looks good on paper, but I refuse to fall into the Samsung crappy CDMA radio trap again... At the rate Motorola's going there will be a couple more Droid choices by then :D

Mine's running awesome now that I'm on Liberty. After the GB update, my phone was totally jacked up and I actually shelved it for a few months and switched to a webOs Pre2. I was getting an itch for a different phone after using the Pre2 for a few months (great phone btw). I decided I'd root the X and find a nice custom rom.

I'm happy as a pig in poop right now. When it comes upgrade time in October for me, Lord only knows what will be available then. For now though, I'm happy and happy to be back in the Android fold.

Real happy all the way around with mine running Liberty3. Got an a500 tab a couple months ago so the X only gets car GPS and TuneIn/Slacker/mp3 duty lately.

Same here. Passed the one year mark in November; phone is still doing well. Extended battery also going strong.

Pretty happy with the phone. Hope to use it for the foreseeable future.

Mines still stock and works great. The keyboard lags and sometimes vanishes and I was doing a battery pull about once a week. Otherwise no real problems but I got the bug and wanted something new. Now the x is my laptop replacement. I'm using it right now while the new phone is charging, it's always charging! 4g lte is sweet though.

My X is still running well, doing everything I need it to without too many complaints :D. Starting to get the 4G itch though. The only phone that has received my attention is the Droid 4 (miss the physical keyboard from my previous Treo). While I don't want to go to a smaller screen, I think I could live with 4" LCD down from the DX's 4.3.

Other than the Droid 4, I'm not super thrilled with the other current offerings: latest Gnex, Rezound and Razr are nice phones, but the lack of a physical keyboard is an issue.

What I would love to see in an Android phone (Listen up Moto/Verizon!):

*Slider keyboard (as Droid 4) with minimum bezel for largest keys possible
*Dual core 1.5Ghz (Quad core even better) CPU
*4.5-5" screen, 720p/1280 x 800 res. and not pentile
*stock/vanilla ICS
*Razr Maxx Battery
*super slim design
*12MP camera w good optics & imaging software
*no locked bootloader
*timely OS updates/support

1. coming soon this year im sure
2. right now the only way to get a pure stock device from the box, is a nexus device
3. Extended batteries are made for this reason
4. only phone with a super slim design is the razr, and from rumors about the durability of it, doesnt look too good, just dont drop it from 3 ft lol
5. mp doesnt mean a thing, the information that binary visions stated is a good start to understand the process of why the larger mp the worse the camera quality is, cause all mp are is the size of the image
6. dont get a motorola, plain and simple
7. the only way you will get this is by a pure google device, sorry :(

I have to say that I am still very happy with my X. While 4G might be cool, it's not enough to get me to the next phone. There is currenly no feature that I can think of that will get me off my X. I am completely stock on my phone with the apps that I need from the marketplace.

Hey, VS, I know - I was just lamenting out loud :D

Just bought mine off a friend, my commando was a POS.
Running CM7 overclocked/undervolted and everything seems fine.

Love my X rooted it and so far liquid gingerbread 3.1 is my poison and I don't think I'm going to leave it until something reaches out and says pick me pick me and the junk that's coming out just don't do it for me

My X from August 2010 is still going strong. Since Gingerbread it has been excellent (it force closed often on Froyo). With no 4G coming to my area in the forseeable future, I see no reason to upgrade.

Exactly.................i followed the famous Nexus Galaxy thread for months and just had to buy a Nexus retail. I have no 4G where i live but wanted the phone really bad. To me at least it was a huge disappointment. Bad camera, no 3G (i do mean no 3G) and other minor issues. VZW was no help at all. Returned it. I know it works for others but not for me :mad:

I am running my X with the latest Vortex rom and really love it. Great everything. Until i see something that turns my head as others have said, i will keep my X.

I happen to live in an area that has great AT&T coverage, better than VZW so am looking at a couple of AT&T phones.

I have had AT&T phones in the past and in my experience at least, the customer service was very much on par with VZW.

Rockin my X and still loving the phone :):):)
