e mail notification

Is there a way to only be notified once when a new email arrives instead of every 10 minutes or so. as it's very distracting when driving and when you get the chance to check emails there's only one message

This seems odd as I only get one notification per new email

Are you using the stock email app and have you checked your settings? I use K-9 but I didn't have this problem even when I did use the stock app.

Not installed anything or changed any setting yet.
