E-mail problem?

I have two e-mail accounts setup on my droid one for gmail the other my verizon e-mail. I rarely ever get e-mail on them becuase I only recently set them up and have not given out the addresses yet but today I received an e-mail from my wife but it was sent yesterday.

Are there timing issues or is there something I need to do on my phone to correct this?

I have changed some accounts to my gmail account...I would then instantly get a notification of change..So I dont think there is a problem.

Do you have the accounts to sync often?

are your email addresses just POP3 accounts being imported/exported through your gmail account? or is the email being sent directly to your @gmail.com account?
