Help ear icon

what is that icon of an ear on the phone? I cant seem to figure it out and get it off the top.

Same thing happened when I first got mine. It's the volume enhancement for hearing devices, etc. basically increases your default in-call volume. To turn it off, from the home screen you go to settings - call - hearing aid.
