Accessories Earpiece/Mic Options

Just bought my 16Gb Tab today and really want to use it as a replacement for my crappy old Nokia Phone. Clearly its far to large to be used as a normal phone held up to the ear (looks silly) which means two choices:-

1 - Bluetooth Earpiece/Mic
2 - Wired Earphone/Mic

I'm not a great fan of having a 'spoon' in my ear (which is what current bluetooth headsets seem to look like to me) so initially looked at the wired earphones that came in the box. Is there a Mic in them? Jack Plug seems right? I tried it in Dialer and Tab went straight to Loadspeaker mode!!!!

So what are my options here? Can I use a Headset/Mic combo which cuts off loadspeaker? Or is a Bluetooth Headset my only option?

I tried the same thing too using the earphones/mic that came with my Galaxy S. No dice.

BT is your only option beyond speakerphone.

Honestly though, and I agree, it's a bit of a niggle for me too, it's not so bad really.
