Root Easy HOW TO change splash screen and boot animation....

I am using the rooted stock rom from xda. Your suggestion worked! Using Root Explorer, I went to /system/customize/resource and removed the VZW_Bootanimation.zip and the VZW_Droid.mp3 file. I took the boot animation zip and mp3 file I wanted and and moved them into the resource folder. I then renamed the files to the ones I removed, rebooted and it worked perfectly. Thank you

I was wondering if there would be a way to turn the boot animations and splash screens completely off?

I'm looking for a way to show the processes and tasks the phone is running while starting up, similar to the way a computer looks just before the OS loading screen.

If this is not possible can the animations be removed for better speed?
Maybe even replace the animations with a "blank" video?.

Thanks for all your help

The "videos" are technically a series of images that scroll frame by frame. You could, in theory, replace them with transparent images. You can also disable the splash screen by removing the .zip containing them or editing the CID file.

Either way, the result will be a black screen until the phone loads up. There isn't any way I know of to see the processes.

And doing any of these won't change you're boot time.
