Easy tether and PdaNet question for connecting to xbox live

I used to tether my XBOX Live (COD Modern Warfare) from my Omnia1 i910 to my laptop (you have to bridge conections blah blah, etc...)...

1 FULL game (appx 7 min) used up about 5-10MB of bandwidth on the network. If you were to download games, patches on Live, then you'd be in trouble. But just playing for about an hour you would be using about 100MB...

I had about 3 green bars on my COD PING with VZW... definitely playable...

Google how to change mtu settings there's a Windows page that will tell you step by step how to do it, there are also programs that do it for you. After you change the Mtu you have to restart your xbox then it should work.

You know, I have to agree with nstallion (and many others) in that you really should not try to use your Xbox with your Droid Data plan. Not only are you going to get caught and be in a whole new world of hurt, but your ruining everything for the rest of us. We already have to worry about Verizon putting caps on our data plans because AT&T did. But with so many people tethering in irresponsible and stupid ways, it may happen faster than we want it to.

Please, please tether responsibly. You're not just hurting yourself, but your hurting those of us that tether for emergency purposes only. I tether when I'm at my girlfriends house ONLY if I absolutely have to. And then, I only use 10-20 MB while tethering. That is responsible use.

I'm telling you right now, when (not if) you get caught, you will be sorry you ever even though of tethering your phone to you Xbox. And then, I promise you, you will be flamed on this forum when Verizon caps our data plan simply for mentioning that you tethered your phone to your Xbox.

So please, just forget that you ever had the thought and don't even try to tether your phone to your Xbox.

Oh my f@$%ing gosh. Are you really going to be THAT hypocrite??? Yes I ment "THAT hypocrite" to refer to you, and your incredibly selfish attitude you pose to others who are absolutely doing nothing different than what you are doing with the same technology. Ok so you say you only use yours for emergencies? LOL, and even if I did believe that, how is that different than what the OP asked advice for? you are still stealing when you use it for your "emergencies", are you not???. So is it ok to steal in moderation???? When did that become a staple of our society??? The fact of the matter is that the service being provided by AT&T or Verizon is not how much DATA that can be transferred over the network (which seems to be the reason for you bashing this guy for trying to do basically the same thing you are able to do but his use of it is going to use more data??? And That is the WRONG part of it. NOt how if we are using data illegally but how much data we are using illegally from our providor?? WTF?? LOL" but the ability to enable a smartphone to give the ability to allow another computer, laptop, or other wireless device to share that devices network connection at all is the service being provided, Point Blank. I'm sorry for you, but if I want to use my android to get me access to the PS netowrk and therefore, allow me to kill some zombies with my bro in Ohio, and the speed is adequate for me to do so, then by all means I'm going to proceed to murder some zombies. And If I am charged 10$ 20$ or even 100$ in overage charges THEN I AM OK WITH IT AND AM GOING TO PAY FOR IT IF IT IS THE ONLY OPTION FOR ME BECAUSE I LIVE OUT IN THE STICKS (STICKS = middle of nowhere in the U.S. AKA no other ISP available) :) Because that is why I live in America and that makes it ok for me to do so..... Love you all... :) PEACE

Sorry to see that you too so much offense to this post I made such a long time ago.

I never once said that it was ok to tether at all. I simply said that if your going to do it, then do it responsibly. The less data you use while tethering, the less a chance that you will be busted by your carrier. This saves you the hassle of having to pay the massive fines, having your plan terminated, and quite possibly not being able to get a new plan anywhere else. Oh and it will (possible) keep the carriers from implementing tiered data plans where everyone loses...

I don't think I was bashing anyone, but I guess that is completely up to personal interpretation.

So, with that being said, good day!

I have read through and watched several tutorials on hoe to tether "easythether" to xbox and i am stuck at the part where i enable ICS. I have no sharing tab in the adapters properties. Has anyone had this problem and is there a fix? I can post ipconfig/all results if needed.
