Root Eclipse Rom For the Triumph

[Jaay Dogg]

Is it possible to port Eclipse 2.0.4 rom to the Motorola Triumph ?

[ziggy46]

Link?

[Jaay Dogg]

I'm not allowed to post links yet, but this rom goes on the X2, Bionic, & Droid 3, Droid forums is where the rom is, I can post a link at XDA or SDX developers

Pretty sure you can post a link after one post, just not the first one.

Link • View topic - [ROM] Eclipse 2.0.4 (2/7/12) ok here's the link, do you think it's possible ?

[Mobstergunz]

its possible but it would be easier if we had an offical Gingerbread to port it to

[Jaay Dogg]

Source code? Or an update to gingerbread from virgin mobile

either would work, but it wouldnt be too hard to port onto cm7

[Jaay Dogg]

Should I look for source code ? Can this be done on windows ?

[Jaay Dogg]

Hay Ziggy can you port it then ? I see your tittle say rom developer

[Mobstergunz]

the only source code we have available is cm7's and The Triumph's froyo source

if Ziggy's up to it we can do it

you could possible look for there source if you wanted to. and to build it you need linux. if it was me, i would just add the extra features of eclipse rom to cm7 then add the theme. would give same results if not better

[Jaay Dogg]

Is this something you would be willing to do ?

we could try to port the theme and some features to it, yes.

[Mobstergunz]

i'll try it sometime after we release froyocream 1.4 then i'll let you test it

[Jaay Dogg]

Done I'll test it just let me know

That seems to be the easiest way to do it from what I see.

[FroyoShark]

It just looks like a themed CM7 to me

[Jaay Dogg]

It's themed with guiding light for the Droid X2 & the Bionic it's a pretty sweet theme, it's coming along.

It's themed GB, but with stock ROMs that have MotoBlur. So it isn't as easy to port over.

I kind of like MotoBlur, so it would be pretty sweet to have this on my phone
By the way, nice avatar.

[Jaay Dogg]

I like the blur stuff too, hints why I'm attempting to bring this theme to our phone, I really wanna port Eclipse 2.0.4. to our phone, but I'm still learning how to port a rom

[b_randon14]

Its actually a rom based off a motoblur build from what I read. Porting the framework and innerworkings would be insanely difficult. The theme would b easy and where some apps are aosp based it wouldn't be too bad for them. But to get the jar files and libraries Porter would be quite a challenge! That's why its usually a variant of a phones stock rom or aosp based is the only choices. Motorola don't release source for motoblur

[Jaay Dogg]

So it would be easier to just keep themeing with the guiding light theme?

Yes, much easier.
