Help Edit android "smart" phones adress book on PC

It seems my smart phone is smarter than me (no surprise my dog is smarter than me too) So I have imported adress list from google, and form another phone. I now have the same persons 2 or 3 times in the adress book.

I Use Ubuntu PC (what else ;-) and HTC desire Z (what a name) The edit function on the phone is too slow, can I get PC access and edit the phones adress book from the PC should I just delete the adress book on the phone and reimport from Google (Id rather not do that )

I can connect HTC phone via USB to PC in various ways:

1 Chargin battery
2. Syncronize calender etc
3. as diskdrive
4. USB tethering
5. Internet pass through

Advice greatly appreciated ...

Hi Finnbjerke,

You can edit phone contacts through Gmail. Contacts will update on the phone next time it syncs (which you can do manually via settings > accounts).

Hope this helps
