Root Editing Icons

I need help locating certain icons such as the 1X icon or the time icon and so on and on. I wish to know where I could locate these files because I want to experiment with things like metamorph. So if anyone could help me out by telling me which folder I would have to go on like /system /data and all that I would really appreciate that.

Yeah Im running the latest rom by Reppard. it was in system/app/systemUI.apk ... I really got confused right now, I'm wondering if theres a faster way then waiting for the icon to download form UOT Kitchen... I was hoping to fool my friends to changing the 1x icon to a 4G or to a 3G that way they would envy me. And anywho, is it suppose to be a hdpi or mdpi? Im hoping its mdpi, or else i just totally f'ed it up :l

Also would a GIF image named to PNG result in a different preview? For example, the gif image shows the data icon replaying the up and down arrow and keeps repeating. If it comes to me editing it, would the data icon not show the blinking up and down. Then when I do enable the data it shows the 2 arrows lit up? Sorry if I kind of confused you lol

Lol. I mean I do get 3G at certain times but they have prl 3019 and get 3G but I get it a lot they don't but yet, when they run a speedtest theirs is bigger. They have custom icons. Like the 1x icon would say GSN or all those other things. I just wanna play around with the optimus. Until I have enough money for a real phone. Like the first ICS phone :D

-and what's even more weird is that my optimus I gave my friend has 3G everywhere. Same prl, same rom. But when I'm next to her I get the 1x xD
